They represent 99% of the companies in the region and contribute 61% of formal employment and 25% of production, which makes them a fundamental agent in the fight against poverty and in reducing the large structural gaps for development of the region.
In the Dominican Republic, 99% of the existing companies in the business ecosystem are micro, small and medium-sized enterprises and they tend to employ more than half of the country’s employed national population.
