Project description

Delegation of the operation and the risk in connection to public electricity distribution service, as well as the operation and maintenance typically with a fixed payment and a performance bonus, without transferring ownership of the assets. The role of the private sector would be to operate, maintain and invest in new assets, assuming clear responsibilities and goals for network quality, commercial service and economic-financial sustainability.

LOCATION

Currently, the country has a deficit in the sustained electricity sector equivalent to approximately 1% of GDP, in addition to losses in distribution of around 30% and quality indicators in the last quartile of the region.

The initiative proposes to solve the problems of the electricity sector, reduce performance gaps and apply improvements in the operation of the Electricity Distribution Companies, customer service and potentially have positive results for the government, the country and the private agent.
