Project of acquisition and maintenance of the new infrastructure for the issuance of electronic passports to Dominican citizens residing in the Dominican Republic and abroad

This project provides for the General Directorate of Passport to adopt a new system for the issuance and distribution of the electronic national passport that will allow Dominicans to obtain a document that will provide security measures and facilitate international mobility.

The objective of the initiative is to create the non-governmental biometrization plan, in order to have control and facilitate the ordering of immigrants in the territory that will guarantee national security, with the more emphasis in the border area, but with scope covering the entire national territory.
