29The general director of the DGAPP, Sigmund Freund, made a visit this weekend to the area where the projects will be executed in that province.
Pedernales, Dominican Republic.- The general director of the Public Private Partnerships (DGAPP), Sigmund Freund, highlighted that the construction of the airport in this province is among the infrastructure works of the Tourism Development Plan that will give greater impact and economic dynamism to that area because it will facilitate the international connection and direct flights from different parts of the world that may arrive.
The director carried out this weekend an evaluation visit to the cave and beach of Cabo Rojo, Las Aguilas Bay, the boardwalk, the airstrip, the border, the binational market and other areas of that province where the tourism projects will be developed, in the company of businessmen, DGAPP officers and members of their work team.
Freund explained that the Pedernales tourism development plan, will additionally entail, the construction of roads, hotel facilities and other important infrastructure works that will transform that region, will be the first model of public-private partnerships under a modality of fund of participation investment, which is expected to be replicated in other areas and boost the country´s economy, through this scheme.
The director of the DGAPP was accompanied by Altagracia Brea de Gonzalez, governor of Pedernales; Andres Emilio Jimenez, mayor; Eliza Medrano, president of the chapter house; Alfredo Frances Ortiz, president of the Chamber of Commerce of these localities, among other authorities, personalities and community leaders.
Among the infrastructure works that will be built in that area, Sigmund highlighted the airport, which will facilitate international connections, where direct flights from different parts of the world will be able to arrive.
